My license is D-605. Interesting site. There are a lot of names I've met and jumped with. I started in the early '60 with Gus Anagnostis of Galveston Skydivers. My first jump was at the invitation of Ed W, the owner and pilot of a Beach 18, cica 1970, operating at that time out of Calistoga Ca. The DZ at Calistoga was shut down due to accusations of miss behavior... LOL. Leon D, was my instructor as long as I bought him beer. The Troop relocated to Yolo, Ca. That operations was controlled by a highly decorated Air Force prude by the name of George M. Who bounced in the peas. We jumped Para Commanders for the most part with Navy Coni's as reserves. In those days lots of experiments were in the air, Thunder Bows (triangles) Squares, the ever worked and modified Cross Bows. I had the pleasure to jump with J. Meyers, B. Smith, G. Clark and the Lovely J. McCombs...what a Hottie, driving her green Shelby convertible Cobra, Teasing the Boys and showing us how to fly....some kind of wonderful Sky Lady. Sadly she bounced at Elsinore. Iv'e been out of the game for years...I am amazed and excited about how it has grown. Live ON...We used to say...an airplane is just a taxi into the Sky.
