I worked with Lyle H Cameron in Honduras in the early 1990's as a US Army Special Forces Laision Officer under Joint Task Force Bravo.   I was actually suppose to be on the plane with Lyle when it crashed in Tegucigalpa, but didn't make it in time.  Lyle flew contract air missions for us along with Marco Fortin-Metzgen.  Both Lyle & Marco were involved in skydiving and SCUBA diving.  Lyle was an FAA Master Rigger.   Did you know Lyle?

I got started with the 82nd Airborne Sport Parachute club in 1960 lic# B-544. I have a copy of the first Sport Parachute invitational meet at Ft. Bragg N.C 1958. It has photo's of many of the “first” Baton pass, relative work, hook up’s & a variety of the many chute modification’s we made. I had the good fortune to be able to jump with and being signed off by many of the single & double digit jump master license holders, Joe Crane C-1, Lewis Sanborn D-1, Dick Dunphy D-40 my first Jump Master, Bob McDonnell D-10, still my hero. His strength, courage, persistence, good humor and can do attitude had a positive influence on all who knew him. Phil VanderWeg D-150, was my partner for demo. Jump’s & meets, He was a good friend, advisor and roll model for me. There are a host of others that took their time to train this neewbe. I became good at sewing modifications and doing alterations for chute’s & harnesses. This learned skill came in handy over the year’s to sew Barbie doll clothes for my Daughters & Grand Daughters. If anyone has a e-mail or snail mail address for the 82nd , XVIII Corp, Special Forces Sport Parachute Clubs at the  FT, Bragg area please contact me.II have a listing of their officials from 1958 and some photos they may want for their records. I would be happy to share photos with of the other old timers or those who would like them jjust post me. A contact at any of the now off post club’s at Bragg would be greatly appreciated. .Thank you Martin,  Beachbumwest@gmail.com.

I first jumped in1963 a few months before the first commanders & x-bows came out, and was an early Diablo Sky-divers member (No. Cal). Better known Diablo's were "Little David" Demarest, often published in "Parachutist," and Bob "Stash" Murray (D-52), both now deceased.
